Design I:
This design focuses on the exploration of light, culture and courtyard. For Alzheimer's patients, changes in light and intensity can affect their symptoms. A soft, sunny space will be of great help to the residents. Furthermore, considering the cultural background of residents, the house adopts a traditional Chinese house design, which can deepen residents' impression of the house and help them remember. In Addition, due to the memory impairment of Alzheimer's patients, patients cannot go out alone without a caregiver, so the courtyard In the center of the house will greatly meet the residents' demand for outdoor space.
Design II:
The design focuses on optimizing the internal circulation of the house and giving residents outdoor space at higher levels. In this design, the function of the ground floor revolves around the staircase, dividing the space into two parts: the space for welcoming guests to events and the space for the family. And with the addition of a second floor, the house can accommodate more rooms, as well as provide two levels of outdoor space.

In the final design, all features are optimized based on the first design. As a first step, a corner of the house will be opened, dividing the space into both sides and forming a corridor connecting the courtyard and the street. The Chinese elements of the house are more prominent, appearing in Su-style architecture. The house is raised one level, providing more living space. The doors of the tea room and the living room are folding doors that fully open the space between inside and outside.
